Don graduated from Berklee College of Music in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Performance. He is excellent with kids and beginners as well as advanced players. He has been teaching for over 10 years and strongly believes music should be fun he has an abundance of patience and enthusiasm. Lessons can include techniques for soloing, theory, sight-reading, chords, playing by ear and having fun learning your favorite songs! Don has very eclectic musical tastes and skills. He has experience playing Jazz, Classical, Rock, African, Reggae, Funk, and Cuban music.


Don currently offers on-line lessons to the entire globe and also teaches in-person, socially distanced, masked lessons at Kiernan’s Music/Sage sounds in Kona and at Medicina Music Studios in Keaau on the Big Island of Hawaii!

Don’s lesson space provides an amp, music stands, and written material to help students succeed.


During COVID-19 Don asks that students wear a mask at all times during the lesson and social distancing will be encouraged!
